Andrea L. Hazen, PhD, Research Scientist at Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego, is a consultant for the Advancing California’s Trauma-Informed Systems (ACTS) project. She has expertise in child maltreatment and intimate partner violence research and program evaluation. Dr. Hazen is a consultant and program rater for the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare and oversees the treatment outcome program for the Trauma Counseling Program and the KidSTART Mental Health Clinic at the Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Hospital.

She is also the lead evaluator for Chadwick’s Center for Child Welfare Trauma-Informed Policies, Programs, and Practices funded through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and for Chadwick’s Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office of Justice Programs, US Department of Justice.
